About the Opportunity
MyShyft is partnering with a well-established hospice in Cumming, Georgia to build a reliable PRN pool of skilled Registered Nurses. This is a shift-based, per diem opportunity — not a 13-week travel contract — giving you the flexibility to pick up shifts that fit your schedule while making a meaningful difference for patients and families navigating end-of-life care.
The hospice has ongoing needs across three role types: IPU (Inpatient Unit) RNs, Routine Visit RNs, and On-Call Overnight RNs. If you’re a compassionate, reliable nurse with strong clinical documentation skills, this pool is a great way to build consistent, flexible income.
Because this pool is used to backfill call-outs and support census fluctuation, reliable attendance for accepted shifts is essential.
Position Overview
- Join a PRN pool supporting IPU (Inpatient Unit), Routine Visit, and On-Call Overnight hospice nursing needs in Cumming, GA.
- Pick up day or night shifts based on your availability.
- Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care during end-of-life care.
- Work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary hospice team.
- Support the hospice’s staffing needs during call-outs and census fluctuations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care for hospice patients in the Inpatient Unit, in patients’ homes (Routine Visits), or via On-Call Overnight coverage, depending on assignment.
- Complete strong, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospice regulatory requirements.
- Perform clinical assessments and exercise sound critical thinking across varied patient needs.
- Support patients and families with compassionate, end-of-life focused care.
- Coordinate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to support each patient’s plan of care.
- Maintain reliable attendance for all accepted shifts, given this role’s function in backfilling call-outs and census changes.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Minimum 1 year of RN clinical experience; acute care, hospice, palliative care, or med/surg experience preferred.
- CHPN (Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse) credential preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient- and family-centered care.
