About the Opportunity
MyShyft is partnering with an established inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Akron, Ohio to build a per diem RN pool for night shift coverage. This facility serves higher-acuity rehabilitation patients at a 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio with complex care needs including PICC lines, wound care, and respiratory treatment. Night shift positions are available immediately, with additional openings anticipated in the coming weeks.
No long-term contract. No minimum shift commitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to higher-acuity inpatient rehabilitation patients within a 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Manage and monitor PICC lines and peripheral IV therapy.
- Perform wound care assessment, treatment, and documentation.
- Administer respiratory treatments and monitor respiratory status.
- Conduct patient and family education on rehabilitation goals, home care, and discharge planning.
- Support the admissions process as needed during night shift.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team (PT, OT, SLP, physicians, case management).
- Complete accurate, timely documentation in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Ohio RN license and current BLS/CPR.
- Minimum 1–2 years RN experience in acute care, medical-surgical, or inpatient rehabilitation.
- PICC line competency and wound care experience preferred; med-surg or rehab background strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills with higher-acuity patient populations.
- Ability to function independently and integrate quickly into an existing clinical team.
