Who this is for: MyShyft caregivers with a confirmed shift that is cancelled within 2 hours of shift start time.
We understand that last-minute cancellations can be frustrating. To help protect our caregivers from unexpected changes, MyShyft offers cancellation pay in certain situations.
If a facility cancels your confirmed shift within two hours of the scheduled start time, you may be eligible to receive two hours of pay at your confirmed shift rates.
To receive cancellation pay, you must submit a Shift Clock Adjustment form here
When You’re Eligible
You may qualify for cancellation pay if:
- Your shift was confirmed on the MyShyft app
- The facility canceled the shift
- The cancellation occured within two hours of your scheduled start time
Example: Shift Start Time: 8:00 AM – Facility Cancels Shift: 6:05 AM
If all these conditions are met, you may request two hours of pay at your confirmed rate.
What Does Not Qualify?
Cancellation pay does not qualify if:
- You resign from the shift
- The facility cancels more than two hours before the scheduled start time.
- You are not in “Applied” status and not “Confirmed”
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Assuming cancellation pay is paid out automatically
- Forgetting to submit a Shift Clock Adjustment request
- Waiting too long to report the cancellation
