Position Summary
MyShyft is looking for an ambitious, self-motivated, and energetic Payment Specialist responsible for ensuring healthcare professionals (HCPs) on the MyShyft platform are paid accurately and on time. This role resolves time clock discrepancies, investigates and adjudicates payment disputes, and processes non-automated payment transactions, working closely with caregivers, client facilities, and internal teams to maintain trust in the platform’s pay experience.
Responsibilities
App Time Adjustments & Dispute Investigation/Resolution
- Serve as the initial point of contact for HCP payment and timeclock adjustment-related concerns.
- Review and make accurate, timely adjustments to clock-in/clock-out records to reflect actual time worked.
- Process sent-home and shift cancellation payments in accordance with MyShyft/client policy.
- Reconcile shift-length overages and complete verification follow-up to confirm hours claimed match hours worked.
- Identify and correct hours worked off-app, and post/reconcile shifts accordingly.
- Investigate payment disputes by gathering and coordinating information from both the HCP and the client facility to reach a documented resolution.
- Ensure all HCP payment and time adjustments are accurately reflected on client/facility invoices, including manual invoice edits needed to reconcile changes made after the invoice run.
Stripe & Payment Processing
- Investigate and resolve failed payment transactions.
- Troubleshoot HCP banking/bank account issues tied to Stripe payouts.
- Escalate systemic or platform-level payment issues to the Payment Manager/Sr. Director of Finance as needed.
Ad Hoc Payment Transaction Processing
- Process shift incentive and bonus payments in accordance with program terms.
- Process training/orientation payments for new service lines (NSL).
Tax & Income Verification
- Support annual 1099 distribution to independent contractor HCPs.
- Prepare income verification documents upon HCP or third-party request.
Cross-Functional Communication
- Partner with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Conduct/Compliance teams to resolve payment issues that touch scheduling, client relationships, or HCP conduct.
- Flag recurring or high-frequency issues to the Payment Manager/Sr. Director of Finance to support process improvement.
Qualifications
Required
- 1-2 years in payroll, accounts payable, payments operations, or a similar reconciliation/dispute-resolution role preferred.
- Comfort working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment (instant pay/4-day pay SLA).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Stripe or similar payment platforms a plus.
- Healthcare staffing, gig/contractor workforce, or shift-based scheduling experience a plus.
