About the Opportunity
MyShyft is partnering with an inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Lancaster, Ohio (Fairfield County) to provide Licensed Practical Nurse coverage for its 36-bed unit, which supports a medically complex patient population including stroke, brain injury, and other neurological rehabilitation cases.
This is a strong fit for an Ohio-licensed LPN who thrives in a fast-paced inpatient environment and is looking for the flexibility of per diem work without sacrificing consistency. Nurses can pick up occasional shifts or build a regular weekly schedule, and pay is set by the nurse and processed instantly after every shift.
Because this unit relies on dependable night coverage, the facility is prioritizing candidates who can reliably commit to and complete shifts once accepted.
Position Overview
- Provide direct nursing care to inpatient rehabilitation patients on a 36-bed unit with an average daily census of approximately 30–35 patients, under the direction of the RN/care team.
- Deliver care to a medically complex population, including stroke, brain injury, and other neurological rehabilitation diagnoses.
- Work 12-hour overnight shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) in a fast-paced inpatient rehab setting.
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, therapists, and the broader interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to support patient recovery goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with facility and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and document the condition of medically complex rehabilitation patients throughout each shift, reporting changes to the RN/care team.
- Administer medications and treatments within LPN scope of practice, in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
- Respond to changes in patient status and escalate care needs appropriately, including during overnight hours.
- Coordinate care with physiatrists, RNs, therapy staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Support patient and family education related to the plan of care and discharge planning.
- Complete timely, accurate documentation in the facility’s EMR.
- Respond to clinical emergencies and participate in codes per facility protocol.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Ohio.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital, rehabilitation, or acute care setting preferred.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced inpatient environment as part of a nursing team.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills across varied patient acuity.
- Reliable attendance for all accepted shifts; availability for at least 1 shift per week.
