About the Opportunity
MyShyft is partnering with an established inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Lancaster, Ohio (Fairfield County) to provide respiratory therapy coverage during a planned vacation period from July 27 through August 3, with ongoing PRN availability thereafter.
This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Ohio Respiratory Therapist who is comfortable working in a fast-paced inpatient rehab environment, managing a variety of patient acuity levels, and stepping in seamlessly as part of a clinical team. After the vacation coverage period ends, the facility will continue to utilize the MyShyft platform for PRN respiratory therapy support.
No long-term contract. No minimum shift commitment after August 3.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory assessments and direct patient care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
- Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent patients as indicated, including weaning protocols.
- Administer aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and airway management.
- Perform and interpret pulmonary function testing, oximetry, and arterial blood gas analysis.
- Collaborate with physiatrists, nurses, physical therapists, and the broader interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
- Complete accurate, timely documentation in the EMR in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in codes per facility protocol.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care, equipment use, and discharge planning.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Ohio RRT or CRT license and current BLS/CPR.
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience; inpatient rehab, acute care, or post-acute experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with ventilator management, airway clearance techniques, and respiratory pharmacology.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills across varied patient populations.
- Ability to function independently and integrate quickly into an existing clinical team.
- ACLS certification preferred.
